Ceiling Type Filter
Ceiling Type Filter is an air filter with a large surface area. Moreover, it is used in HVAC systems to capture fine particles, to provide second or final stage filtration and to protect HEPA filters against particle load.
The filter can be produced with glass fibre media, hot-melt separators and a two-component polyurethane sealing compound. In addition, aluminium or MDF frame options are available. Standard depths of 78 mm and 150 mm cover different mounting spaces. Therefore, various pressure drop requirements can be met.

What Is a Ceiling Type Filter?
A ceiling type filter is a fine filtration element. It is built by placing densely pleated glass fibre media inside a compact frame. Therefore, it suits ceiling filter housings, terminal filtration layouts and HVAC applications with limited mounting space.
The large filtration area helps to distribute the nominal air flow over the filter surface. As a result, the media is used more effectively. Furthermore, the filter can work as a second or final stage. It can also serve as a pre-filter upstream of a HEPA filter. You can review the full range on our air filter products page.
Models with 78 mm depth offer a more compact structure with a 50 mm pleat height. In contrast, 150 mm models have a 125 mm pleat height and a wider filtration area. Consequently, they can provide a lower initial pressure drop at the same nominal air flow.

- Dust concentration and particle characteristics
Inspection and Maintenance
The initial and operating pressure drop should be followed with a differential pressure gauge or a transmitter. Moreover, the replacement time must not be based on operating hours alone. Pressure drop, real air flow, dust load, hygiene conditions and the physical state of the filter should be evaluated together.
Glass fibre media must not be cleaned with water or compressed air unless the technical documentation clearly states that it is washable. Otherwise, such treatment can damage the media, the pleat geometry and the circumferential sealing.
