Glass Fiber Panel Filter
Glass Fiber Panel Filter is a ready-to-use framed air filter designed to capture coarse dust, paint particles and other large particles in ventilation systems, air handling units and paint booths.
High Dust-Holding Capacity and Practical Filter Replacement
Glass fiber filter media helps capture particles throughout the depth of the filter rather than only on the surface. Thanks to its panel construction, it can be installed directly into the filter cell without additional media cutting, framing or support preparation.
Products supplied in the ISO Coarse class according to ISO 16890 can be selected according to project requirements with different filtration efficiencies, frame depths, airflow rates and pressure-drop options.
ISO Coarse
Used for prefiltration of coarse dust and large particles.
Glass Fiber Media
Provides a fibrous filter structure suitable for capturing particles throughout the media depth.
Panel Construction
Can be installed directly and practically into the filter cell.
Up to 80°C
Suitable for operating temperatures up to 80°C depending on the product type.
What Is a Glass Fiber Panel Filter?
A Glass Fiber Panel Filter is a disposable coarse air filter manufactured by placing glass-fiber filter media inside a cardboard frame or another frame type suitable for the project.
The irregular fiber structure within the filter media allows dust and paint particles in the airflow to accumulate inside the filter through impaction, adhesion and mechanical capture mechanisms.
Its panel form provides fast installation and replacement in standard filter cells. Consequently, maintenance procedures become easier and the need for additional framing during filter replacement is reduced.
How Does a Glass Fiber Panel Filter Work?
Contaminated Air Reaches the Filter
Air containing dust, paint particles and coarse contaminants reaches the inlet surface of the panel filter.
Particles Adhere to the Fibers
Airborne particles collide with the glass fibers and are retained within the filter media.
Filter Loading Increases
As contamination increases, the amount of captured material and the pressure drop across the filter also rise.
Panel Filter Is Replaced
The panel is replaced when the specified final pressure drop or process contamination limit is reached.

Advantages of the Glass Fiber Panel Filter
Glass Fiber Panel Filter Selection Criteria
Width, height and depth must be compatible with the existing filter cell.
Airflow through the filter face should remain within the nominal limits specified by the manufacturer.
The required coarse-particle capture level and the following filtration stage should be considered.
Clean and dirty filter pressure drops should be considered during fan selection.
The filter should be suitable for the maximum temperature that the process air may reach.
Higher-capacity filter options should be considered in systems with intensive contamination.
Installation and Maintenance Recommendations
Technical Selection and Application Note
Glass Fiber Panel Filters are primarily used for coarse-particle and paint-particle filtration. They are not sufficient by themselves for controlling fine particles, gases, odors or solvent vapors.
When determining the filter replacement limit, the lower value between initial pressure drop + 50 Pa and three times the initial pressure drop may be used.
Filter service life depends on airflow, face velocity, operating time, particle concentration, paint consumption, installation sealing and process conditions.
