Reverse-Side Gel Seal Ceiling HEPA Filter (RSR: Room-Side Replacement)
The reverse-side gel seal ceiling HEPA filter (RSR) delivers final-stage particle filtration in cleanroom terminal systems. In addition, it lets the filter be replaced by the controlled room itself. Therefore, it suits applications that require room-side service.
The reverse L-type side gel seal sits at the mid-level of the frame. Together with a matching terminal box, it forms a continuous sealing line. As a result, leakage risk is limited. Moreover, the product is available in E10, E11, E12, H13 and H14 classes. It is used mainly in pharmaceutical, hospital, microelectronics, food and precision production areas.

What Is a Reverse-Side Gel Seal Ceiling HEPA Filter?
RSR stands for “Room Side Replacement”. In short, it means the filter can be removed and replaced from the controlled room. As a result, it offers a clear advantage where access to the technical space above the ceiling is limited. In addition, the change can be planned directly from the cleanroom side. Correct cleanroom system selection is critical at this point.
Unlike standard gel seal ceiling filters, this model places the reverse L-type gel bed on the side face and mid-level of the frame. The knife profile of a matching terminal box then seats into the gel bed. Consequently, a circumferential sealing line forms between the filter and the terminal box.
The real performance of the filter depends on several variables. For example, filter class, terminal box geometry and gel bed condition are among them. In addition, mounting tolerances, face velocity, air flow, pressure difference, pre-filtration level and process conditions also affect the outcome.

Custom width, height and depth can be evaluated based on terminal box, ceiling module and project requirements.
Excluding the flange, the net filter width and height are 34 mm smaller than the outer product dimensions.
A ±10% tolerance may occur in differential pressure values, depending on production, measurement and test conditions.

Inspection, Maintenance and Filter Replacement
The differential pressure of the filter should be monitored regularly and recorded in operating logs.
The gel surface must be free of fouling, permanent deformation, gaps or damage that could affect the seal.
During replacement, area isolation, personal protective equipment and contamination control procedures must be applied.
After installing the new filter, the aerosol seal test, air flow and required cleanroom checks must be repeated.
The air flow and initial pressure loss values in the table are nominal product data. The real performance may vary with conditions. For example, air density, face velocity, terminal box geometry and the gel bed-knife profile fit affect the result. In addition, mounting tolerances, aerosol type, measuring device, calibration status, filter load, humidity and temperature also play a role.
