What Is a Mobile Fume and Dust Collector?
Mobile fume and dust collectors are compact local exhaust ventilation units that operate at individual workstations without requiring fixed ductwork. They are commonly used for welding fumes, metalworking dust, maintenance particles and suitable light process dusts.
Contaminated air enters through the extraction arm. A pre-separation chamber slows heavier particles before the horizontal cartridges capture finer material. An integrated fan then directs filtered air through the upper outlet.
The suitability of returning filtered air to the workplace must be assessed according to the contaminant, filter configuration, risk assessment and applicable local requirements.

How Mobile Fume and Dust Collectors Work
Contaminated Air Inlet
The extraction arm captures welding fumes or dust and draws them into the inlet section.
Pre-Separation
Heavier particles slow down in the pre-separation chamber and enter the first collection drawer.
Cartridge Filtration
The remaining fine particles pass through the selected high-efficiency cartridge media.
Filtered-Air Outlet
The integrated fan directs the filtered air through the outlet grille at the top of the unit.
