Oil Separator Cyclone Filters
Centrifugal Separation of Oil Mist and Liquid Droplets in Industrial Air Streams
Oil Separator Cyclone Filters are mechanical filtration systems used to separate oil mist, oil droplets, coolant aerosols and liquid-laden particles generated by manufacturing machinery and industrial processes from the air stream.
The air stream is given a rotary motion, causing oil droplets to move to the housing surface under centrifugal force. The separated oil collects in the lower chamber and is discharged through the drain line or can be directed to reuse in suitable processes.

Centrifugal Separation
Oil droplets are transported to the housing surface by the rotary air movement and separated from the air stream.
Low Maintenance Requirement
Because the main separation process is mechanical, consumable-filter use can be reduced.
Oil Recovery
The separated liquid can be collected in a controlled manner through the lower chamber and drain line.
What Is an Oil Separator Cyclone Filter?
An oil separator cyclone filter is equipment that mechanically separates liquid droplets by setting oil- or coolant-containing air into rotary motion inside the housing. Droplets that are heavier than the air stream move to the outer surface under centrifugal force and flow to the collection chamber by gravity.
The systems can be used in CNC machines, metalworking machinery, compressor lines, vacuum pumps, turbines, lubrication systems and industrial processes that generate oil mist. Depending on the required filtration level, a coalescing filter or high-efficiency final-filtration stage can be added after the cyclone separator.
How Does an Oil Separator Cyclone Filter Work?
Contaminated Air Inlet
Air containing oil mist and liquid droplets enters the cyclone housing tangentially.
Rotary Air Movement
The housing geometry gives the air stream a high-speed rotary movement.
Oil Separation
Heavy oil droplets strike the housing surface under centrifugal force, combine and flow downward.
Clean Air and Drainage
The cleaned air is directed to the outlet line while the separated oil is discharged from the lower chamber.

Applications
Advantages of Oil Separator Cyclone Filters
Application Note
When selecting an oil separator cyclone filter, the airflow rate, oil concentration, droplet size, oil viscosity, gas temperature, duct pressure, allowable pressure loss, housing material, drainage method and target outlet level should be evaluated together. In applications with very fine oil mist, a coalescing filter may be required after the cyclone stage.
