What Is an Open Top Closed Bottom FIBC?
An open top closed bottom FIBC is an industrial bulk packaging solution designed for fast filling, storage and transportation of bulk products. Thanks to its open-top construction, material can be loaded directly into the bag using a loader bucket or belt conveyor.
The closed bottom keeps the filled product securely inside the bag. Furthermore, the sewn bottom construction helps reduce product loss during storage and transportation.
Four reinforced lifting loops allow the FIBC to be handled by forklift or crane. Therefore, this design provides practical handling for different bulk materials in food, chemical, agriculture and construction applications.

Open Top Closed Bottom FIBC Selection Criteria
- Type and bulk density of the material
- Filling method: loader bucket, belt conveyor or manual filling
- Storage and transportation conditions
- Material moisture, dusting and flow characteristics
- Need for forklift or crane handling
- Whether a bottom discharge system is required
- Bag dimensions and application area
- Industry-specific hygiene, safety and packaging requirements
In addition, product density, particle structure, moisture content, filling method, lifting equipment and storage conditions directly affect FIBC selection. Therefore, the actual application conditions should be technically evaluated before final selection. Relevant FIBC requirements published by ISO may also be reviewed where applicable.
