Rigid Filter (Aluminum Frame)
Rigid Filter (Aluminum Frame) is a compact air filter used to capture fine particles in HVAC systems, provide second- or final-stage filtration, and protect HEPA filters against excessive particulate loading.
Glass-fiber filter media, hot-melt separators, two-component polyurethane sealing compound and an aluminum frame provide a rigid filter construction. Standard-capacity 100 mm models and high-capacity 130 mm models can be selected according to filtration area and pressure-drop requirements.

What Is a Rigid Filter?
A rigid filter is a fine-filtration element manufactured by securing densely pleated glass-fiber media inside a durable frame. The aluminum frame combines low weight with mechanical rigidity. It also helps the filter retain its form during installation in the filter housing.
Hot-melt separators maintain the spacing between the filter-media pleats. Therefore, airflow passages remain open and the available filter surface can be used effectively. A two-component polyurethane compound at the media-to-frame joints supports perimeter sealing.
The 100 mm models provide standard capacity, while the 130 mm models offer a larger filtration area and high-capacity construction. A larger filter area can help reduce the initial pressure drop at the same nominal airflow.

Inspection and Maintenance
The operating pressure drop should be monitored regularly with a differential pressure indicator or transmitter. Filter replacement should be determined by evaluating pressure drop, actual airflow, dust loading, operating time, hygiene requirements and the physical condition of the filter together.
Unless the technical documentation clearly states that the glass-fiber filter media is washable, it should not be cleaned with water or compressed air. Improper cleaning may damage the filter media, pleat geometry and perimeter sealing.
