Rigid Filter (Plastic Frame)
Rigid Filter (Plastic Frame) is a high-capacity compact air filter designed for fine-particle capture in HVAC systems. It can be used for second- or final-stage air filtration and as a prefilter to protect HEPA filters.
Glass-fibre filter media, hot-melt separators, two-component polyurethane sealing and a polystyrene plastic frame create a lightweight yet rigid construction. Models with a 130 mm depth are available for nominal airflow rates from 750 to 3,000 m³/h. Therefore, they can be used in various air handling and ventilation applications.

What Is a Rigid Filter with Plastic Frame?
A rigid filter with plastic frame is a fine-particle filter manufactured by fixing densely pleated glass-fibre media inside a polystyrene frame. The rigid outer construction helps the filter media maintain its shape during installation and operation.
Hot-melt separators maintain the spacing between the filter-media pleats. As a result, airflow passages remain open and the available filtration surface can be used effectively. The joint between the filter media and frame is sealed with a two-component polyurethane compound.
The 130 mm depth and high-capacity filter geometry provide filtration areas from 3.2 to 13 m² within compact external dimensions. Moreover, the large filter surface can support lower initial pressure drop and high dust-holding capacity at suitable airflow rates.

Inspection and Maintenance
The operating pressure drop should be monitored regularly with a differential pressure indicator or transmitter. Filter replacement should be determined by evaluating pressure drop, actual airflow, dust loading, operating time, hygiene conditions and the physical condition of the filter together.
Unless the technical documentation clearly states that the glass-fibre filter media is washable, it should not be cleaned with water or compressed air. Improper cleaning can damage the filter media, pleat geometry, plastic frame and perimeter sealing.
