Silo Top Filters
Compact Dust Filtration Units with Jet-Pulse Cleaning for Pneumatically Filled Silos
Silo Top Filters are compact dust filtration units used to safely discharge pressurised, dust-laden air from inside silos during pneumatic filling.
During silo filling, dust separated from the air is automatically removed from the filter elements by the jet-pulse cleaning system and returned to the silo. This structure reduces product loss and keeps dust emissions under control.

Silo Filling Dust Control
Filters dust-laden air generated during pneumatic filling to provide safe air discharge from the top of the silo.
Automatic Jet-Pulse Cleaning
Dust accumulated on filter elements is cleaned with an automatic air jet and returned to the silo.
Low Emissions
With suitable filter media, dust emissions can be reduced to values below 1 mg/Nm³.
What Is a Silo Top Filter?
Silo top filters are used to filter dust-laden air generated inside silos during pneumatic filling of bulk materials such as cement, lime, minerals, plastic granules, feed, flour and chemical powders.
Filling air rises upward inside the silo, and dust particles are retained on the filter surface as the air passes through the filter elements. While cleaned air is discharged into the atmosphere, the product accumulated on the filter surface is cleaned by the jet-pulse system and falls back into the silo.
How Silo Top Filters Work
Pneumatic Filling
As product is conveyed into the silo, dust-laden air rises toward the upper section.
Filtration
Dust-laden air passes through vertically positioned cartridge / pleated filter elements.
Dust Return
The product retained on the filter surface is cleaned by an automatic air jet and returned to the silo.
Clean Air Discharge
Filtered air is discharged into the atmosphere with low dust emissions.

Silo Top Filter Technical Data Table
The table below lists the housing diameter, filter area, closed / open height and weight information for the two main models.
| Model Code | Housing Diameter (mm) |
Filter Area (m²) |
Max. Closed Height (mm) |
Max. Open Height (mm) |
Weight (kg) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SILAB 14 | 800 | 14,0 | 1.100 | 1.850 | 68 |
| SILAB 24 | 800 | 24,5 | 1.100 | 1.850 | 79 |
Performance and Operating Benefits
Air filtration capacity is increased with high-performance filter media.
System pressure loss can be reduced by optimising the filter surface / housing volume ratio.
Operating costs can be reduced through lower air consumption in the jet-pulse cleaning system.
Filter elements can be easily replaced by a single operator.
An 800 mm housing diameter and 1,100 mm maintenance height provide accessible installation on top of the silo.
The brochure states potential savings of up to 50% in annual management costs, up to 30% in spare part costs and up to 20% in silo filling time through low air consumption.
Accessories and Options

| Emission sampling kit | Used for dust emission measurement and sampling procedures. |
Applications
Application Note
When selecting a silo top filter, the filling rate, material density, particle size, silo volume, pneumatic conveying pressure, filter area, emission target, pressure loss, explosion risk and maintenance access should be evaluated together.
Get Technical Support for Silo Top Filter Selection
Silo top filter selection should be based on silo filling capacity, dust characteristics, filter area, housing diameter, jet-pulse air consumption, emission limit, maintenance height and site installation conditions.
You can request a technical assessment for compact, automatically cleaned silo top filter solutions that reduce dust emissions from pneumatically filled silos.
