Slim Type Panel Filter

Slim Type Panel Filter

ISO 16890 FINE FILTRATION

Slim Type Panel Filter

Slim Type Panel Filter is a compact air filter with a 32 mm aluminum frame. It is designed to capture fine particles in HVAC systems, provide second-stage or final-stage filtration and help protect HEPA filters.

The construction combines glass-fiber filter media, hot-melt separators and a two-component polyurethane sealing compound. Therefore, it is suitable for air handling units, ventilation equipment and project-specific filter cells where installation depth is limited.

What Is a Slim Type Panel Filter?

A slim type panel filter is manufactured by fixing densely pleated glass-fiber filter media inside an aluminum frame. Its frame depth of only 32 mm provides a significant installation advantage in narrow filter cells where conventional deep panel filters cannot be used.

The filter can be used as a second-stage or final-stage filter in HVAC equipment. In addition, it can serve as a prefilter upstream of HEPA filters. Suitable prefiltration helps reduce particulate loading on high-efficiency final filters and can support longer service life.

Filter Selection and Application Process

01
System Analysis
The air handling unit, filter cell and actual airflow are evaluated.
02
Efficiency Class
The required ISO ePM10 or ISO ePM1 efficiency class is determined.
03
Dimensions
Width, height and the 32 mm installation depth are checked.
04
Gasket and Protection
Gasket type and surface-protection side are selected according to the application.
05
Pressure Monitoring
Filter loading is monitored through differential pressure.

Product Advantages

Slim construction: The 32 mm frame depth is suitable for limited installation spaces.
Lightweight design: The aluminum frame simplifies handling and installation.
Different efficiency levels: Available from ISO ePM10 70% up to ISO ePM1 80%.
Gasket alternatives: Different gasket types can be selected according to installation and sealing requirements.
Surface protection options: Protection can be applied on the clean-air side, dirty-air side or both sides.
Custom dimensions: Special sizes can be evaluated according to project and filter-housing conditions.

Filter Selection Criteria

  • Actual and nominal airflow
  • Face velocity through the filter
  • Required ISO 16890 class
  • Permitted initial pressure drop
  • Width and height of the filter housing
  • Suitability of the 32 mm filter depth
  • Surface-protection requirement on clean or dirty side
  • Gasket and compression system
  • Ambient temperature, humidity and particulate loading
  • Arrangement of prefilter and final-filter stages

Inspection and Maintenance

Filter pressure drop should be monitored regularly with a differential-pressure indicator or transmitter. Replacement timing should be determined by evaluating pressure drop, actual airflow, particulate loading, hygiene conditions and physical condition together.

Unless clearly stated otherwise in the technical documentation, glass-fiber filter media should not be considered washable. Cleaning with compressed air, water or mechanical impact can damage the media, pleat structure and sealing components.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Slim Type Panel Filter a HEPA filter?
No. This product is a fine-particle filter classified under ISO 16890. It can be used as a prefilter upstream of HEPA filters, but it does not replace a HEPA-class filter.
Are F7, F8 and F9 classes still current?
EN 779 has been withdrawn. These codes are shown for historical comparison; current filter classification should follow ISO 16890 values.
Can custom dimensions be manufactured?
Custom dimensions can be evaluated after checking production limits, airflow, pleat geometry and installation configuration.
On which side should surface protection be selected?
Depending on airflow direction, mechanical-contact risk, installation and maintenance conditions, protection may be selected on the clean side, dirty side or both sides.

Technical Application Note
The airflow and initial pressure-drop values shown in the table are nominal product data. Actual filter performance may vary depending on process conditions, installation method, test area, actual airflow, face velocity, system pressure, perimeter leakage, filter-housing tightness, measuring-device calibration, particle characteristics, dust loading, humidity, temperature and operating time. Final selection should therefore be based on an evaluation of the complete system rather than the model table alone.
