Ventex Explosion Isolation Damper
Mechanical Explosion Isolation Damper for Dust Collection, Filter and Cyclone Lines
The Ventex explosion isolation damper is a mechanical explosion isolation device used to prevent explosion-related flames and pressure waves generated in dust collection systems, filters, cyclones and process pipelines from spreading through the line.
Using a backflow-prevention operating principle, this system allows air and product flow during normal operation. During an explosion, it closes and remains locked, preventing the explosion from propagating to connected equipment.

Explosion Isolation
Helps prevent flames and pressure waves from propagating through the pipeline.
Backflow Prevention
The damper closes under pressure coming from the explosion direction and limits reverse propagation.
Mechanical Operation
Works through a mechanical closing principle without external energy and is manually reset after closure.
What Is a Ventex Explosion Isolation Damper?
The Ventex explosion isolation damper is a mechanical explosion isolation device used in dust collection, filtration and pneumatic conveying lines where explosion risks are present. Its primary purpose is to prevent pressure waves and flames generated during an explosion from travelling through the pipeline to other equipment.
The damper allows airflow and process flow during normal operation. During an explosion, the pressure wave pushes the closing element towards the sealing surface. The damper closes, remains locked and isolates the line.
Key Technical Features
Ventex Explosion Isolation Damper Operating Principle
No AirflowThe closing element remains in the central position and the system is ready for operation.
Normal OperationProcess air or product flow passes around the closing element and allows the line to operate.
Explosion EventThe pressure wave pushes the closing element against the sealing surface and the damper closes.
IsolationThe damper locks in the closed position and prevents the spread of flames and pressure waves.
Operating Conditions
| Condition | Description |
|---|---|
| No airflow | The closing element is held in the central position. |
| Normal operation | Flow passes around the closing element. |
| Explosion event | The pressure wave closes and locks the damper. |
| After an explosion | The flap is manually reopened. |
